In March 2020, with funding from White Ribbon Alliance and John Snow Inc., Cognito created a comprehensive Stakeholder Engagement Plan for Nigeria’s Self-Care program. This plan involved stakeholder mapping and in-depth interviews, resulting in increased stakeholder buy-in and participation. Building on this success, Cognito received additional funding from John Snow Inc. in December 2021 to conduct extensive research. This research led to multiple stakeholder workshops and the creation of a Social and Behavior Change (SBC) and Demand Generation (DG) strategy, along with creative materials for the Self-Care for Sexual Reproductive and Maternal Health (SRMH) program in Nigeria. The finalized document, endorsed by the Honorable Minister of Health in June 2022, is now being implemented nationwide.
